Space Sharing: Embedded Seclusion Winter Park Villa is a harmonious sanctuary that encourages h ealth and a sense of tranquility, immersed in the landscape surrounding the main building with a series of open courtyards. JHID and Steven Harris Architects have created a residence that is both exquisite and rooted in the natural environment. The large glass Windows and low profile of the Winter Park House led to careful consideration on the site by JHID and Steven Harris Architects. Near the lake, there grow oak trees that are 200 years old, serving as a guiding force in shaping the form of the residence. Drawing inspiration from modernist masters, the consistent application of white stuct emphasizes large openings, a clear color palette and low spans. Then use the wood in combination with other natural materials (such as stone) to enhance the texture depth of both the interior and exterior rooms. The presence of the lake has a profound impact on the experience of the house, and water plays a crucial role in soothing the internal tone. Light-colored finishes are spread throughout the material palette of the residence, making the surrounding landscape the focus while enhancing the sense of scale inside. The elevated details and connections enrich the interior atmosphere and support the core focus of tranquility, seclusion and unity. Although limited to one floor, the Winter Park Villa exudes an air of grandeur similar to any multi-storey residence described in its introduction, and pays attention to maintaining a down-to-earth view. The threshold of the Winter Park House can be adjusted according to different occasions to encourage activities between indoor and outdoor. Architects JHID and Steven Harris created a residence that resonates with the location, time and its residents through close connection with the landscape throughout all areas of the final home. ...View more
